DISPENSING
There is huge difference between purchasing glasses and having a spectacle prescription filled. Having a prescription filled by a qualified optometrist who can advise you accordingly with regard to frame and lens selection is of the utmost importance. In frame selection we advise not only on the cosmetic appearance but, more importantly, we assess the distance between your eyes, your ear position, the width of the bridge of the nose and nose position, the type of material and if you are allergic to any metals (eg. nickel allergies), frame size and weight, and, of course, if the frame is correct for your prescription. In choosing lens options, we have to consider lens design to minimize distortions and aberrations, the lens material and the refractive index, ultraviolet and infrared protection, multi and anti- reflective coatings, tints and changeable tints, weight and lens thickness
